The 2019-20 school year is in full swing, and our teachers are excited as we implement new programs.Students will be talking about what they learned during W.I.N.time (What I Need) or be enthusiastic over receiving green dojos. Parents will appreciate the online paying system for its convenience and by downloading the CCSS school system app, missing deadlines or events will be a thing of the past.
To enhance core subjects, new programs are being implemented to help all students become more successful. W.I.N. time (What I Need) is scheduled for thirty minutes in the morning, four days a week. All students’ needs are addressed by using small groups taught by the entire faculty diligently working together.
ClassDojo is used for classroom management. The program has been successfully used by many schools to be very effective in encouraging positive behaviors. All teachers that interact with students have the opportunity to give positive (green) and negative (red) dojos (marks) along with comments. Parents who sign up receive notifications that inform them of negative consequences, but as or more important, it focuses and informs on students' positive behaviors. Second Step, a program that focuses on the social and emotional needs of our students is being introduced this year. For children to be successful in academics, sports, and life in general, it is important to have and practice skills for listening, learning, and working with others. Our goal at CIS is to inspire the next generation to be more engaged, thoughtful, respectful, and compassionate citizens.
Finally, you can keep up-to-date with all things CIS by installing our Central Community School System app on you Android or IOS devices. Besides keeping up with all the latest news and important dates, use your app to connect to the new web-based way to pay for school supplies or any items assigned by the school. The site is called, School Cash Online. You can find the link on our website or app.
